whats goin on......
at present we are going to borrow one of bryns mates HD cameras to better shoot our film and make t look more proffesional than if we shot with the college equipment.

The plan is to go back to bryns and shoot all the outside shots before th light fades and we are allowed to enter the house to folm the indoor shots.

For the outdoor shots we need no specialist equipment as we ant the authentic natural lighting for the shots wheras we are getting studio lights for lighting indoors as the lighting is pretty dull.

we had the idea to use the itv 1993 to set the date period in our sequence as shown below

we have also decided to try and get some props from the time period to again set the time period.

The Importance of my role

Co-Director- As the co-director I will be partly responsible for the whole of the filming process. A film director visualizes the script, controlling a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of his or her vision. The director is meant to have a strong idea of the final look he is trying to achieve with the picture. A good director makes sure that he is always in control of the situation and it is his responsibility that ever shot is perfect. Every decision made by the crew has to be Okayed by the Director first. As working as a co-director I will not be able to make all of the decisions myself. If we disagree on points we will have to compromise. I think I would be good as a co-director  as I am  good at compromising if i don’t get what I want straight away. I am good at organizing and getting things done to a deadline and also have a strong idea of what I want to achieve from the picture.

Camera-man

A cameraman is in charge of the operation of the camera. This includes holding the shots for the desired amount of time and holding the shot still. As well as this the cameraman will collaborate with the director and creative directors to create the narrative and base the shots around what feel they would like. Due to the fact that camera operators know what works well on the screen they are often mistaken for directors due to there huge involvement in the creation. I think I would make a good cameraman because of my love for still photography. I have a good eye for composition and framing and know what looks good in that frame.

Initial Ideas
Set in rural landscapes, focusing around a young traveling boy, known only as a "The Pikey Boy" by school peers. Coming from a very close knit family his life is planned out before he knew it himself. His Dad, a former Bare Knuckle Boxing champion is now injured due to a fight that got nasty, is certain that his son will follow his footsteps and re-instate the family name in the boxing community. This however is not what the boy wants to do, he has a strong talent and doesnt want to be dragged along in the same light as his parents, ostracised by the public for there different culture and fighting to survive. He decides to pursue this ambition in secret, away from his family, in fear of upsetting them. Romance and violence ensue. Escalating into a climax.

Crew
Bryn Thomas- Director/Cameraman

Dan Summers- Director/Cameraman

Bryn- I think that I would be good as a director due to the fact that I work well in a team and a natural leader. I am firm and to the point and like to see a job done well. My hobby as a photographer will also help me as a cameraman, due to the fact that i have a strong eye for composition and the way that shots should be framed.

Dan- I think i would be a good director due to my good team skills and my confidence to change things and become more adventurous even when the shots have all been planned. i'm also willing to be authoritative and firm in order to get the job done to the best of my abilities regardless of how people will view me. when it comes to the role of a cameraman i feel with my experience over the past 2 years in both Media and Film studies i can see the best ways in which to capture shots and can use a numerouse amount of angles and effects to create the bet possible shots.

Examples of camera work which our sequence will try to follow.

This short by shane meadows contains rural settings and camerawork i hope to include in our sequence.
